Children's Mental Health Week 2025

Children's Mental Health Week 2025 – 3rd to 9th February

Now in its tenth year, Children's Mental Health Week 2025 is scheduled from 3rd to 9th February across England. Organised by the charity Place2Be, this annual event aims to empower and equip children and young people with the tools to navigate mental health challenges.

The theme for this year is "Know Yourself, Grow Yourself," emphasising the importance of self-awareness in personal development and resilience. The theory is that by understanding their emotions and behaviours, children can better manage life's ups and downs. Place2Be has partnered with Here4You, supported by The Walt Disney Company and characters from Pixar's "Inside Out 2," to create engaging resources that encourage children to explore and express their feelings.

Families are encouraged to participate from home. Place2Be offers free resources, including top tips for parents and carers, creative activities, and guides to help children embrace self-awareness and express their emotions. These materials are designed to foster open conversations about mental health within the family setting.

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in mental health challenges among children and young people in the UK. Factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, social media influence, and academic pressures have contributed to rising levels of anxiety and depression. Initiatives like Children's Mental Health Week play a crucial role in addressing these issues by promoting awareness, providing resources, and encouraging supportive conversations.

By participating in Children's Mental Health Week 2025, communities across England can contribute to a national effort to prioritise the mental well-being of the younger generation, ensuring they have the support and understanding needed to thrive.
